Washoe Theater
The Washoe Theater
The Washoe Theater was built in 1931 to accommodate the many vaudeville acts which toured through our area. Today it hosts concerts and provides a remarkable setting for first run movies. It is still family operated in the old time manner, with an intermission and lodge seating in the balcony for an extra 25 cents.

The acoustics and sound system are extraordinary! This theater is on the National Historic Register and is one of the few remaining 'grand' theaters in the country. The Washoe Theater is open every night with recently released movies.  For less than $7.00 per adult, you can enjoy a movie, and have popcorn and a drink.

Ice Skating in the City Commons Ice Skating in the City Commons
When you visit Anaconda in the winter, it is like stepping into a Norman Rockwell painting. Our city commons in the center of town, across from The Washoe Theater, is flooded to make an ice skating rink.  In the center is the Christmas tree, and the entire rink is surrounded by Christmas lights.

Skate rentals are available across the street where you can also purchase hot cocoa. The warming hut is a great place to visit and drink your hot cocoa.

Old Works Golf Course Old Works Golf Course
This signature course is quickly building a reputation as one of the premiere, daily fee golf experiences in the Northwest region. And as Montana's number one golf course, Old Works has been reborn on the site of Anaconda's historic century-old copper smelter.

The first course ever built on a Federal EPA Superfund site includes many historic relics in it's design. The bunkers aren't filled with traditional white sand, but with black slag sand which is a byproduct of the smelting process.

You'll enjoy very affordable green fees, a friendly full-service club house, a three-hole practice course, driving range, professional instruction, awe inspiring views, and great golf!
